Overview
Galvanized steel wire rope uses zinc-coated wires for surface corrosion protection. Specify the complete rope construction, core, nominal diameter and tolerance, lay type and direction, tensile grade and minimum breaking-force basis under the governing standard. Zinc coating alone does not establish lifting, traction or marine suitability.
Match replacement rope to the complete equipment specification, including construction, core, lay and lubrication. Diameter alone is insufficient. The equipment maker or responsible engineer must select the load basis, safety factors and retirement criteria. Provide termination drawings and identify sheave, drum or guide interfaces where relevant. Agree rope identification, measured-length records and reel handling before ordering. State document and inspection requirements in the RFQ so they can be confirmed against the exact rope specification.
Product scope
- Construction, core and lay are separate order requirements.
- Minimum breaking force does not itself establish the permitted working load.
- Specify termination design and reel handling before order confirmation.
