Overview
Choose coil or plate to match the fabrication route. Specify the stainless grade and governing flat-product standard separately; a grade name alone does not define thickness tolerance, surface acceptance or delivery condition.
For coil, include inside diameter and maximum coil weight. For plate, add length, flatness and edge requirements. Any grade substitution, including a change between austenitic and duplex steel, needs a separate technical review. State whether thickness is nominal or subject to a specified minimum, and identify the applicable tolerance class. Where blanks will be welded or formed, include the drawing and any edge preparation or surface restrictions. List inspection documents and acceptance tests with the order so the material requirements, handling method and quoted delivery condition can be checked together.
