Overview
This page is for plate and coil intended as feedstock for pipe manufacturing. Order the raw material against an agreed material specification and edition, exact grade and delivery condition. API 5L and ISO 3183 address finished line pipe; referring to them does not establish plate or coil conformity as a finished pipe. If the project targets a pipe grade such as X52, provide the pipe manufacturer's feedstock requirements instead of treating that grade alone as a complete plate or coil order.
State thickness, width, plate length or coil limits, tolerances, flatness or shape and edge condition. Identify the intended forming and welding route and any requirements for chemistry, carbon equivalent, mechanical properties, toughness, test direction or ultrasonic examination. Agree the sampling and acceptance criteria for the raw material separately from tests on the finished pipe. Send quantity by size, destination and inspection documents. Availability, processing, packing and delivery terms require confirmation against the complete inquiry; pressure, sour-service or low-temperature suitability requires the applicable project review.
Product scope
- Raw-material acceptance and finished-pipe compliance are separate.
- A target pipe grade alone does not define the feedstock specification.
- Delivery condition and test requirements follow the approved purchase specification.
