Overview

Hot rolled steel coil feeds slitting lines, cut-to-length equipment, welded tube production and general fabrication. Start with the downstream process: a structural component and a formed sheet-metal part may need different grades even when the requested thickness is identical. State the governing product standard and full grade instead of treating familiar ASTM, EN and JIS designations as interchangeable. Black coil retains mill scale; a pickled and oiled route needs its surface condition and handling requirements agreed separately. For leveling, specify the finished sheet flatness and cutting tolerance. For slitting or tube making, include edge condition, width tolerance and any restrictions on coil welds. Coil inside diameter, outside diameter and maximum mass must fit the receiving line. Add inspection records, coil identification, packing and destination so the quotation addresses both material acceptance and unloading constraints.

Product scope

  • Grade and standard are selected from the project specification; cross-standard equivalence is not assumed.
  • Coil dimensions, surface, processing, inspection, and documents are confirmed from the RFQ.

Applications

  • Service-center leveling and cut-to-length
  • Formed and welded fabricated components
  • Downstream tube, profile, and general manufacturing feedstock

Surface options

  • Mill finish or light-oiled surface with storage period stated
  • Shot-blasted surface with preparation grade agreed before processing
  • Shop primer system with coating product, dry-film thickness, cutback, and repair rules stated

Processing & form

  • Leveling and cut-to-length with flatness and dimensional tolerance stated
  • CNC profile cutting, holes, bevels, and part marking from an approved DXF/PDF drawing
  • Bending or rolling only after grade, thickness, rolling direction, radius, and delivery condition review
  • Heat or piece traceability, MTC, impact, UT, and third-party witness scope by PO or ITP

Packing, inspection & delivery documents

Include packing, material certificate and inspection requirements so costs and delivery arrangements can be reviewed together.

Packing & delivery

Export packing options

Plate, sheet, coil, section, and rebar use form-specific export packing. Packs can include skids, steel straps, waterproof barriers, edge guards, coil eye protection, section bundle supports, durable heat or part marks, and container bracing. Unit mass, lifting method, maximum bundle or coil mass, storage exposure, destination port, and discharge equipment are confirmed before loading.

Quality assurance

Quality documents

Inspection follows the purchase order, complete product designation, thickness or section range, delivery condition, and approved inspection and test plan. The agreed scope can cover chemistry, CEV or Pcm reporting, tensile properties, Charpy tests, hardness for wear grades, dimensions, surface, flatness, UT, Z-direction properties, marking, and heat-to-piece traceability. Certificate type and third-party hold points must be agreed before stock allocation or processing.

Export packing & loading evidence

Representative export packing and loading evidence. Final packing follows the approved order.

FAQ

FAQ

What should an RFQ for Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC) include?

State complete standard and grade, product form, thickness or section dimensions, delivery condition, impact and Z-direction requirements when applicable, surface, processing, MTC and UT scope, quantity, packing, and destination. A complete line-item specification is required before manufacturing route, availability, inspection, and packing can be confirmed.

What quality documents are available for Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC)?

The ordered document pack can include mill certificates, lot or heat identity, dimensional and visual inspection records, and product-specific test reports. Third-party inspection must be agreed before production or stock allocation.

How is Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC) packed for export?

Packing is selected from the product form, unit weight, handling method, destination climate, container or break-bulk limits, and discharge plan. Confirm the destination port and any storage constraints on the RFQ.

What information is needed to quote Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC)?

Send the required grade or standard, dimensions, quantity, destination port and application. Add surface, processing, packing or inspection requirements when they affect the order.

How should I select the grade or standard for Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC)?

Use the project specification and end use as the starting point. Share any required reference such as ASTM A36, S235JR, S355JR, Q235B, together with forming, welding, corrosion or service conditions, so the quotation follows the intended application.

What affects the quotation for Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC)?

The material specification, dimensions, quantity, processing, surface, packing and destination all affect the quotation. Final commercial terms are provided against the submitted RFQ.
