Overview
Choose the stainless steel grade for the finished component, forming or welding operation and service environment. State the exact designation and governing standard; grade names from different systems are not automatic equivalents. A 304L order should not be replaced with 304 without checking the specification and obtaining the buyer’s approval. Provide nominal thickness, width and tolerances, delivery condition, inside diameter and maximum coil weight for your processing line. For slit coil, add the finished width and edge requirements; distinguish these from the mother-coil dimensions. Specify the required finish, such as 2B, BA or No.4, together with the visible face and acceptance criteria. For polished surfaces, agree the polishing direction and reference sample. Include protective-film requirements and removal conditions where needed. Match heat and coil identification to the requested mill test certificate. Define dimensional checks, surface acceptance and any additional inspection in the order. Packing should protect the surface and edges, control moisture and suit the coil weight and unloading equipment. Send the grade, dimensions, finish, quantity, application and destination port. Availability, minimum order, packing and lead time are confirmed in the quotation for that specification.
